October was an interesting month. It felt like forever, but also felt like it flew by too quickly. I can’t believe that it’s already November, you guys! I have less than 5 weeks left for my second semester of nursing school and I can’t even begin to express just how excited I am for this to be over with already.
Let’s recap what happened last month, shall we?
- I went to NYCC for the third year in a row. This year, I tried my hand at cosplaying and went as Wednesday Addams. It was so fun and I’m 100% going to try again next year, nursing school permitting.
- I had the opportunity to be one of the hosts for Caffeine Book Tour’s #NeverTiltingTour which spotlighted Rin Chupeco’s newest book, The Never Tilting World. You can read the review here. Have you read the book yet? Let me know what you think!
- Book reviews for The Suffering and The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco as well as The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski were also posted this month.
- Clinicals at one of the big, local hospitals concluded last month. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on which day you ask me this question), the clinicals for this semester are only 6 weeks long.
- I was able to shadow nurses in ICU and ER. During those days, I was able to do all sorts of things because the nurses I got paired up with were absolutely awesome and wanted me to get hands-on experience while I was there.
- I also got to witness a trauma while I was in the ER and let me tell you something, that is an experience I’m never going to forget. It was amazing, but also so heartbreaking.

- I went book shopping on Halloween. No worries, I got my candy fix as well. Still trying to work my way through the chocolate.
How about you guys? How was your October?
