Wow, February! What an exciting, whirlwind of a month you’ve been. From passing the NCLEX-RN to that COVID scare, this month gave me no breaks emotionally. And bookwise? It has been a rollercoaster. But let’s jump right into the monthly wrap-up!
Table of Contents
Book Wrap-up
I read nine (9) books this month which is three (3) more than last month. Not having to worry about a professional licensure exam really helped things. It also helped that I passed said licensure exam and am now a registered professional nurse.
However, when I compare it to February 2020? I had much better luck bookwise last year. I was able to read nine (9) books in February 2020 and ended up with more 4.0+ star reads.
What did I read?
- The Duke and I by Julia Quinn (review)
- Say No to the Duke by Eloisa James (review)
- The Archive of the Forgotten (Hell’s Library #2) by A.J. Hackwith (review to come)
- Shiver by Allie Reynolds (review to come)
- The Forgotten Sister by Nicola Cornick (review to come)
- Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark: Three Books to Chill Your Bones: All 3 Scary Stories Books with the Original Art! by Alvin Schwartz, Stephen Gammell
- Kiss of Steel (London Steampunk, #1) by Bec McMaster (review to come)
- Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix (Rise of the Empress #2) by Julie C. Dao (review to come)
- The Carrow Haunt by Darcy Coates (review to come)
While this month could have been better, I’m still in that phase where I’m just thankful to still have the time to read at all.
Blog Wrap-up
Now that I have more time, I’m slowly getting into that groove of writing out blog posts and scheduling them. It’s slow, but I’m getting there. I’ve started using notion.so to help me keep track of all my blog post ideas and what I have written so far. Nothing too fancy; just something to stop me from losing track. So far, it’s helped a lot, especially where book reviews are concerned.
- Book Reviews Posted in February
- Nursing Blog Posts
- How I Studied and Passed the NCLEX-RN (post)
Other Cool Stuff
- Passed the NCLEX-RN and am now a Registered Professional Nurse!
- Finally, I sort of finished Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Took such a long time because I was also trying to complete the areas, but gave up towards the end. I will be going back and playing more because I want to see where it goes from there.
Plans for March
Aside from job hunting (a given), I’m going to try and work as a vaccinator. Hopefully, this works out because it’ll mean money, some sort of experience, the chance to get vaccinated, and something to do while I’m sending out applications and my resume to hospitals.
Planned Reads
- My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell
- Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
- Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
- Pachinko by Min Jin Lee
- The Ghost Map by Steven Johnson
In addition, I also plan on going outside more either to read or write — weather permitting. With spring almost upon us, I’d like to spend some time outdoors while it’s pleasant.
I also want to try working out again. It’s been far too long since I’ve gone to the gym and aside from my walks, I don’t get much exercise. Admittedly, I am a bit nervous to go to the gym because of COVID. I live with people who have underlying conditions. Both have thankfully vaccinated, but I still don’t want to risk it.
I do have somethings in store for this blog, but you’ll have to wait and see!
Alright, friends! That’s it for this month’s wrap-up post. I am really looking forward to sharing the content I have planned and/or drafted for you. Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful and safe March!
