Dearest authors, publishers, publicists, and friends,

Thank you so much for expressing interest in working with me. It’s an honor! I ask that you take a moment to skim through this book review policy page as well as my grading system page prior to reaching out.

First and foremost:

Please keep in mind that all reviews are my own. I will always be truthful and will never hold back while remaining respectful in my reviews. Getting a copy of a book for free will never in any way impact my views on the book or change its rating.

However, I reserve the right to point out any and all inaccuracies, stereotypes, harmful and problematic content that I see in books.

If I have accepted your book for review, it does not mean that I will write a full-length review. I reserve the right to make the decision on whether I will write a full-length review.

Furthermore, I reserve the right to refuse review requests.

Reading Preferences

I much prefer fictional books for adult, new adult, and young adult audiences. I am willing to read middle grade novels, however, I don’t read them too often.

Review Format

If I have accepted your book for review and decided that I will write a full-length review for it, you can expect:

• Short blub that attempts to summarize my feelings
• Logistics r/t book details. I will also include any pertinent content warnings
• Review itself
  • I will tackle the plot, worldbuilding, characters, and anything else I feel that impacted my views on the book
• Final Word
  • Grade + Star rating
  • If I recommend the book

If I am writing a flash review instead:

• Short blub or bullet points that summarize my feelings
• Final Word
  • Grade + Star rating
  • If I recommend the book
• Logistics r/t book details. I will also include any pertinent content warnings

Where Will the Reviews Go?

All of my full reviews will be posted here on this blog. Reviews posted on my Instagram, StoryGraph, and Goodreads profiles will be the short blubs that summarize my feelings along with links to visit this blog to find out more.

When possible and required, I will post reviews to NetGallery and in Edelweiss.

I am also willing to post on other websites such as B&N and Amazon. However, reviews for those websites may be subject to edits to comply with their review policies.

If you have requests of where to post reviews, you must include that in the email.

Book Reviews for DNFs?

DNF (did not finish) happen. I always try to give every book I start reading a chance to redeem themselves. However, there will be occasions when I will simply have to DNF the book. If this is the case, this will happen at about 40%+ read.

Should I DNF the book, I may or may not write a review discussing my reasoning for DNF’ing the book.

Review Turnaround & Schedule

Book reviews take a while. Although I consider myself a pretty fast reader, life happens. I work in a busy emergency department and often pick up overtime. As such, I cannot guarantee a specific date unless I am working with a blog tour company.

Reviews will go on the blog first and then they’ll be uploaded to Goodreads and other preferred retailers soon after, albeit — as stated above — they may be edited to comply with company review policies.

Status (29th December 2021): Currently NOT accepting reviews 

I prefer physical over digital, however, I’ll read both regardless. For ebooks, I prefer them to be in EPUB format if possible. Published works and ARC/eARCs are always welcomed.

Format your request as follows:

SUBJECT: Review Request [BOOK TITLE & Author]
In the email, include the following:
- Book synopsis
- Genre
- Release date
- Standalone or series? If it's part of a series, is it the first book?
If applicable, also include the following:
- Representation 
- Trigger/content warnings 

I will endeavor to respond to emails promptly should I approve the request. If I have not responded to your review request within a week, consider the request declined.
